A Shadow Falls Over The Land

The night fell swiftly and with a vengeance. The full moon rose and cast it's light onto the mists, the deep fog that cloaked the valley. Slow hoofbeats pierced the night, muffled by the fog. They got faster, and faster, and suddenly a small rodent's cry of fear and pain caught in the cold air. Then she appeared; All 17 hands of her. Her white fetlock feathering flashed in the moonlight as she moved and she tossed her head. Her eyes somehow held both anger and no emotion as she looked around her and her hooves were stained with blood. She let out a feral shriek to the four winds and reared high over the mist, showing herself to any Dark enough to take her. She would not go easily, whoever watned her would have to fight with her to get her out of the valley, and what's more: The stallion that 'captured' her would have to satisfy all her desires to avoid a confrontation. Her name was Shadow and she was out for blood.

Hammering of hooves were herd. Hissing and screams were aloud. Hammer charged at the mare going at force.His head low and swaying as he neared her. HIs stoped was hard and jolting as his large hooves hit the ground. He was as large as a draft but really was a mustang. The blue roan brute had his eyes locking on the mare. HIs ears flattened deeper onto his skull as he snorted. "Well well welll what do we have hear?" he sneered.

She heard the thunder of approaching hooves and looked to the horizon to see him racing through the night. Her clear eyes caught his movement and locked on with a vengeance. Perhaps he was worthy of her. Perhaps he would one day know the pride of having sired a foal by her. She had never allowed any stallion to breed her but she was young and ther wa smuch time left in her life. You never know.

Holding firm as he charged at her proved fairly easy and she watched him with a cold stare. Her proud neck arched higher than his head but her head was pressed to her chest at his level. Who are you, brute? she said, her words more a challenge than a question.

Opts traced over the land's contours, as the dappled evening light hit the slopes, reflecting in a cascade of beautiful colours off the pool at the centre of the lands. Striking hues were dashed across the above expanse, as if some playful child had snatched a brush, and streaked the canvas with a multitude of of stunning colours, contrasting to the dull jaded lands below. Not that the bronc was any type to stand, aghast at the display shown above his form. In fact, not any attention was shown at the sky's colourful palette, as his gaze continued to traverse the realm.
The drake's form was masculine, and not the typical, strangely muscular type that was generally found around the area, in which he had selected to stalk. Though muscles were visible, rippling under the bronc's strikingly dappled hide, and the bronc showed the general form of his iberian lines, it was in a more refined way- making his build less brutish, and more attractive. Such features, could often be found in abundance among the sun-bowers, who were more oftan than not, of the arabian type, and less muscular and bulky. Perhaps those of the shadows were often heavier, for braun and brains are rarely handed out in equal amounts, and braun can often be mistaken for strength. Oh, not the muscular strength, but the true strength, which would always beat any outer shell presented.
A below of laughed broke from the duke's caverns in amusement as he watched one particular individual charge at an ess. It was impossible to suppress. The drake was so clearly dissillusioned, seeming to think that it made him look strong, idiot. Obviously one of those who did think that braun would always triumph over brains, when those with minds knew it was in fact the opposite. Still, Sailor had never lost a battle - of either brains, or, when absoloutely necissary; braun.
Stilts carried the bronc down the glen, emerging behind the essa, a slight, snide smirk upon his handsome features. Tutting slightly, the drake spoke, lymns smooth, full of power, and poison. Tut tut- truly no way to speak to a lady, for sure. Brows raised, gaze momentarily challenging, crania swinging towards the femme. Unless, of course, you like to be charged upon, and spoken to with such disrespect, mistress.Lymns were silky, slipping from his tongue as easily as honey.

No answer came from the roan brute's lips and Shadow was disgusted. Idiot she thought. No manners at all. She would not stand with him. The blood of this mare ran tainted and proud, her family's heritage far from pure. A princess among the Dark creatures all around, Shadow was very much aware of it. When she had been born she had taken hold of the herd, first with her perfection in form, then with her bloody attitude as she aged. Now, as a fully grown mare, the tall shire vix had forgotten them. They had begged her not to go, spineless as they were without one of the Blood to lead them, but what were the lives of a hundred to her? What were the lives of her entire herd? It mattered not.

Her thorns suddenly picked up the sounds of another. Her lips turned up in a small smirk for just a moment before lowering back into a cold, grim expression. It was always good to be popular with the males.

She turned with an exaggeratedly bored sigh, as if to let the other know that her first suitor had truly not pleased her. And who might you be? she asked, this time with less challenge than question. Make it snappy, brute, I want to get this over with. came her slightly bored and very much cold lyrics. However this same voice carried a hint of lust, as if she knew this one would be right for her. She didn't really know but hey, it's not like she wouldn't leave him on the spot if she got to his land and decided he wasn't good enough; that he didn't meet her standards.

Hammers snorted as the other brute came upon them. He pawed the ground before hissing his voice out to the mare. "Hammer,from hammering into other horses at challenges my deadly hits have killed few. I own Murdering Medows." his sly lips formed and evil smile. A perfect place. His black tail flickered as he rose his head high. "Who are you tiny?" he asked to the brute. HIs eyes were black as coal as they bored into the others eyes,

Shadow rolled her coal black eyes and looked over her shoulder at Hammer. So you can speak. Just leave, you gargoyle. You have no chance anymore. came her disgusted retort. But don't worry, you'll get lucky one day. this last was a mocking sneer. She wanted to waste no time on this second rate..no, this fourth rate amateur. The moon sent her frame into a mass of shadows and reflected light as she moved just one step closer to Sailor, one powerful hind leg positioned to kick out at him when she stood still again.

Hammer opened his maw to bite her. His eyes were full of rage. "YOu little..!" he bit her shoulder. Not too hard.But it was more like a pinch instead. Hedidn't want a fight out here wiht a mare. But he dislike dher now and smiurked. "FIne then you don't have to be the leader." his neck arched as he abred his teeth. Hammer turned around and trotted rather large circles round them.

The drake couldn't suppress a cold chuckle at the other's immature, dissillusioned actions. The truth was, this particular brute was smaller than him- the bronc stood at sixteen-two hands. The other was a mustang, and mustangs barely ever even reached the height of fifteen hands. A slight, amused snort was given at the idiotic ways that were being displayed by the brute. 'Killed a few'? A few what? Blades of grass. The drake's tone slipped easily as silk, lymns purring in a masculine, silky way. Aww, did I disturb you? What a shame. The bronc's skull was shaken in a mockingly sorry way, a playful smirk upon his features. Pity. You waste so much of your time on nicities. The bronc's tone was sarcastic, utterly undaunted by the way that the other was acting. This was fun, and way too easy- every dark knew that the true strength was in sharpness of tongue - obviously this idiot thought it otherwise. The bronc tutted once more.
Skull swung towards the essa. You don't seem to be enjoying his company, opts turned to the drake take a hint for once, and go and practise you're skills- if you have any. The drake's crania shooks slightly in amusement, tired of the idiots roaming these lands. Turning back to the femme, he smirked. Sailor, and yourself, mistress?

"Naw pipsqueks like you!" he hissed. Hammer reared and landed pawing the ground. "Say since we both want this mare why not battle?" his lirics firm. Death was all over his eyes. What a show-off he has 'manners' pfshaw like he doesn't know evil. Ha he most likly won't fight. Hammers sly smile form when he thought about this. He walked foreward to this brute and snorted. "Salior? then why aren't you back home with your lighties?" he laughed. "And shes a vix not a lighty or a fae but a vix. Don't you know darqs when you see one?" he snorted.

Her eyes grew wide and shocked as she felt his teeth connect with her shoulder. You dare! she cried, spinning and rearing high. She was truly an intimidating force when se was angered and Shadow now aimed her hooves down at her opponent's back. If it connected the blow would be painful, perhaps even fatal. No one touches me without permission, brute! she screamed as she attacked, ivories bared. When she had finished she turned back to Sailor, calm restored. I am Shadow, formerly of lands abroad, Sailor. she replied to his question.

Brow raised in amusement. By true dark, brute, do you mean yourself? I guess 'hammering' is what you do best... if you get my gist. Laughter burst from the bronc's caverns. First, I'm not one to claim immidiatly, quality, over quantity- though rest assured, I never even approach one whom I cannot see wuality in- only ones as lowly as yourself would do that, and I doubt even those little wenches would accept an offer from a brutish idiot like you. Quarters were swung to the other equine, though this was not a defencive, or attacking action- the lowlife had wasted enough of his time already.
Lobes flickered at the minxen, devilish, playful smirk upon his features. Yes, much too easy. My my, looks like someone's fallen into the wrong catagory. What a puny idiot. The bronc's thoughts were for the brute, but now his attention turned to the femme. A true pleasure, mistress. Now, to put our little friend at ease- would you go with him?

Hammer bucked and laughed loudly. A laugh that he ahs never done before."Well well well you really are an wimpy pathetic idot. NO wonder you don't have any family. They alll left you to die!" his mock was loud. His ears flattened as he came towards the stallion. "Since your such a wimp why do you think your so smart?" he snapped. "Why doesn't she want a home for evil and darqs only not lightys or ones who have stupid manners like you." his voice grew louder. "But since your soo calm unlike a true darq you must be neutral.For darqs shouldn't be calm and relaxed." he hissed.

Crania turned slightly, no anger shown in the bronc's frame. This truly was amusing. What a pathetic idiot. My my, he takes it all the heart doesn't he. And I can't say that I admire his persistance. My, what a bore it is. Brows raised slightly, a smirk still carved easily upon his handsome features. My my my, I'm glad you have at least one skill- the skill of assumption. This skill is perfect for lowlifes - such as yourself - who know that they have lost any ounce of respect that they might have had- also useful for those who are fighting a loosing battle, again, such as yourself. Do you really want to stay and shame yourself more? The fact is, that the lady here has made it quite obvious that she doesn't want a mindless rat - like yourself - so I have no idea why you still trouble yourself. Lymns purred calmly, slickly, and full of a hidden venom. It was true, Sailor was having immense fun, and the lowly brute was only obliging his wishes and need for entertainment by staying here. Face it my dear, not everyone loves you. The truth's hard, isn't it?
With a last chuckle, and shake of his bold skull, the drake whipped his tail at the other, merely for the enjoyment of it, and turned back to the essa. Shall we continue?
